Everyone falls in love with their own prospects. Wotherspoon was an example as he was our shiny new toy on the backend. Now Anderson and Killington are our shiny new toys.
Kylington isn't a shiny new toy. He's a guy who was widely being hyped as one of two notable high-end defensemen along with Hanifin in his draft class before an injury-riddled and otherwise disappointing draft year in a tough mens league put him behind the curve. He's looked right back on track this year however. The hype about Kylington going into his draft year was not unlike the hype about Drouin going into his actual draft. The difference, is Drouin's rough spell came after his draft, and Kylington's before.

They are actually similar tiers of prospect. Both with high-end skill that need to learn to play both ends before they're NHLers. I don't think Kylington for Drouin is a talent upgrade. Nor is it a team need upgrade the way a guy like Puljujarvi or Laine would be.
