There is no rush to re-sign Ramo until the end of this season. While we all acknowledge his improved play and confidence in the last 20 games or so - there is still almost half the season to be played.
Assuming he gets a further 30-35 starts yet this year, Treliving will have a much more complete body of work on which to base his decision. Will also be helpful to see how he handles the pressure of delivering must win games when a play-off position is at stake.
And then, assuming the Flames make the post season, how he handles the increased scrutiny and pressure of being a play-off goalie.
It would be a big commitment to re-sign him for another three years and Treliving must wait and see if that is the right move.
