While I think Jones is the better player, Johanssen fits a much bigger need. The Preds have needed a #1C since their inception. Arnott was as close as they got. I think this is the piece that can get them over the hump. They are set on D with probably the best one in the league and always have a steady stream of top 4 guys coming in. With their luck, their 2nd round picks will end up being franchise Dmen so if I'm Nashville, I'm not too upset with Jones' departure. They are starting to have decent forward depth finally. With Weber's actual pay being much lower then his cap hit, the owners have money to get more pieces.

If Johanssen plays to his potential, I wouldn't be surprised to see them put up a good fight vs the Hawks or Kings in the playoffs. A #1C was what they needed most, and they got it. As long as Weber is in his prime, their window to contend will stay open. I think Jones will fit in well with the BJs in the long run. But IMO the Preds are the winners. But its a great trade for both teams.
