I'm not defending Duke at all because I don't agree that you should be disappointed in an offspring because they're "gay" but he might just be disappointed that he can never have grandchildren and not the fact that his daughter is a lesbian. I, of course, don't know the whole situation (whether there are other siblings) but I know my parents would be a little disappointed if their bloodline ended with me and my brothers.
