I am real Tinordi. Barkov went higher than his draft ranking suggested, FLA surprised a lot of people with that pick. I wasn't surprised he went #2.

In the world of what if's, if Monahan didn't serve a ten game suspension and had to miss the WJC where a lot of opinion forming is made, It may have been enough to supplant Barkov or MacKinnon.
Go back through the threads that debated Barkov/Lindholm/Monahan and there was indeed a very sound argument for Monahan even back then onths before the draft.
