Drouin's problems to my eye the few times I've watched him in the NHL aren't defensively (not that he's great there). It's his tendancy to turn the puck over in the offensive zone.
Johnny had this tendency last year and Hartley let him play through it because he's a gamebreaker. It seems Cooper doesn't want to let him learn on the job.
