Yes, this is just a board of "hockey fans," no, that doesn't speak to the collective intelligence. You're right, you don't need to be likeable, but unless you want to keep yelling at a cloud while people tune you out, you should at least want to be tolerable.

Actually I don't care wether or not you can fathom me having an intelligent discourse with any scholar. I've been doing just that for a very long time. However I come here mostly for hockey talk, this topic caught my eye because it's something i hold very dear in my heart, targeting of civilians, it's just wrong in any war in any situation.
I'm not here to be Skype friends with you. I'm here to share my opinions. If people show petulance towards me, I am allowed to reflect that petulance back at them. I have received a warning from a mod. And I have been shown where I went over the line. I accept my warning and will make adjustments. One of those adjustments is not being a ##### cat or dumbing myself down to speak with people who don't know what they are trying to talk about.
I don't feel like my 'interesting opinions' are going to waste. I am well respected at what I do for a living, which has in large part to do with history, religion and my interesting opinions.
I genuinely appreciate your post though and your concern. I'm not being sarcastic. I thank you for that.
