Sat back a little too much in the 3rd for my liking. Could have cost us at the end, but thankfully it didn't. One fluky bounce off the boards aside at the end, we played a solid game and kept them down to a handful of decent scoring chances. I think its time we put Ferland with Monahan and Gaudreau. Colborne just isn't quick or skilled enough to play with them, which is fine. He's a 3rd line winger anyway. But we need some more speed and energy on that 1st line as Sean and Johnny are lagging a little bit at the moment.
Good start to the home stand. Good to see the secondary scoring picking up the loads, the defence continues to improve which is good to see. PP still needs some work, not nearly a consistent enough threat. All in all, good game.
As for the Lightning, man do they look flat at the moment. All these off ice issues with Drouin and Stamkos can't be helping the atmosphere in their dressing room right now. They weren't that great when we played them in Florida earlier in the season either. Yet another team like the Ducks that was supposed to be dominating this season as a contender that instead looks like a shadow of themselves. But hey, they deserve it for 2004 right? ;-)
Oh and great for Bouma to get the EN at the end. Now that's he starting to get his legs under him, I'd like to think he can start finding his offensive groove like he did last season. Not expecting 16 goals or anything unrealistic, but making the odd play and scoring the odd goal would be nice, especially with Frolik and Hudler out.
