Keep in mind, Klimchuk lost almost an entire season of Junior due to injury. When he came back, he was still showing heart, skill and grit.
Before turning pro, he's only had 1 year of hockey after the injury.

Is it a failurel on a GM's part to draft a kid in the first round that at best Becomes a bottom 6, 5/7, or solid backup that is reliable every time he steps in?

I see no way Klimchuk turns out better than Poirier and I think he is made of glass. Guy is injured a lot.
