It's not like the Toronto media is suddenly discovering Babcock. He has been a consensus top coach for years by everyone.
None of the 3 coaches mention have close to the consistent success of Babcock. I don't view Hartley as that, but there's a lot of first year coaches who win the Jack Adams by having his team exceed expectations and then can't follow-it-up.

Yes, Babcock has a solid resume. Everyone agrees with that.

now, because he's coaching a Leaf team to an under-500, lottery draft season, that is hilarious.
And also that the author would be so stupid and smug to describe a SC winner as one-off.
