I wish he would have come here and dealt with the situation in person. He has been a member here for many years and I think most of us would have been pretty open to listening to him explain the situation. Instead, he went into hiding and deleting his fundraising pages which didn't look good.
We've been left with many questions. For example, why did he start the fundraiser on October 1st - the same day that he announced on facebook that he was ready to move in to a place?
Later in the thread after someone called him out on his previous use of fundraising websites, he explained that he needed to furnish his apartment. This may be a reasonable explanation but creating a very sad thread about homelessness and creating a fundraiser called "Help Ian Find a Home" is very different from telling people that he needs some dishes and furniture and is rather misleading. |
