Well, that's why there's speculation that Columbus is trying to trade him.

But I disagree, you don't give him 20 minutes a night. Not entirely because that's what's good or not good for him, but because of the team. Imagine you're a player who works out all summer, comes to camp to play, buys into the coaches system, does what's asked, and then you have an out of shape teammate with a poor attitude who's underperforming getting 20 minutes a night? You're not going to be happy for good reason. There's a reason that most teams with success have some sort of "always earned" mantra.

I also disagree that it's always necessary to cut ties with players. 23 years of age may not be too old to instill into someone the virtues of hard-work and dedication. There's just 0 chance of that happening if you're giving him 20 minutes a night and telling him how awesome he is. Bench him, criticize him, he has to learn someway.

That's Johansen's excuse but this isn't the first time his conditioning has been challenged. He has a well documented past with rumours of laziness and attitude problems.
