Speaking of Kessel. I feel when they traded him it was to make room to offer Stamkos a deal that will make him the highest paid player in the NHL. They opened the vault for Babcock and I believe they intend to do it for Stamkos. As a Leaf hater this is best case scenario as he's not close to being the best player in the NHL and he's not going to be able to carry a franchise by himself and the contract will cripple them in the future.
