I still chuckle to this day over the fact that the Oilers beat the Flames in game 82 of the 2006-07 season (a meaningless game for Calgary as they had already clinched a playoff berth) and jumped over the Hawks in the standings and out of the draft lottery. As luck would have it, Chicago wins the lottery and they selected Kane while the Oilers picked 6th overall and selected Sam Gagner.
