There is no question that Wideman has a great shot. The difference for me is that Hamilton is more mobile and gets himself into better locations. He is simply a more dynamic player. And his shot is good enough that keeping Wideman there just because of his shot, isn't warranted.

The Hamilton thing for me is more than velocity. He has a better awareness of lanes than Wideman so there's less off the chin pads. Additionally, the biggest problem with the Flames powerplay this year is the players being too stationary, nobody is moving. Hamilton is always moving.
Man add in his physical play last night and Hamilton is becoming a complete stud back there.
He needs more first unit powerplay time though.
