Shocked people didn't like Fin. I liked all three of the new heros a lot. Better than anything in prequels.
Fin would get attached to Rey as it's his first non-stormtrooper connection and could very well be the first girl he's been able to get to know. His immaturity also makes sense as he's a scared deserter that got caught up in something much bigger than him.
