The Alderaan incident was a tragedy, but Bail Organa was an ardent supporter of the rebels, and that's without dispute, and his daughter was a traitor smuggling military secrets to the rebels. The whole "We're a peaceful planet" line was the biggest lie when two of the biggest supporters of the rebellion were clearly based on Alderaan.
And how do we know that the death star destroyed the planet. I mean history is written by the victors. I tend to think that the Rebels were hiding weapons of mass destruction on the planet and had a horrible accident, but we'll never know now.

Oh yeah, after reading those two contrarian pieces, I am totally on board with the Empire. Even Order 66 starts looking like the French Revolution when you consider that the Jedi were pompous aristocrats, and the Sith were liberal meritocrats.
