Khudobin is the type of goalie you acquire if you have a Martin Brodeur/Miikka Kiprusoff/Henrik Lundqvist goalie that will play 70+ games. He is a lousy goalie and not an upgrade on either Hiller or Ramo, which is saying a lot. Hiller has struggled mightily this season, so much so that it may be his last in the NHL, but Khudobin is just as prone to allowing bad goals/rebounds.
Why waste the contract spot for someone that isn't an upgrade.
Ortio also has been very inconsistent in Stockton. Some games he plays like he used to, others he gives up stinkers like he did early in the season.
