Dave Filoni talked about Vader when the series first started, he mentioned that we wouldn't see a lot of him because at this point he's at the height of his rage, and hatred and is fearful of looking at his past decisions and is more concerned with wiping them out.

In other words if Vader was a regular series member as the key villain that the series would be about 3 shows long and then over as Vader would have destroyed everything in its wake.

Because of these emotions right now Vader is a guy who has absolutely no mercy at all, there will be no hesitation, even when he confronts Ashoka, he might goad her and gloat. But he's not going to call her Snips and beg for forgiveness, he's going to weaken her because of her attachment and respect and love for Anakin Skywalker, but he won't hesitate in killing her. His justification is that she knew that this was going to end in her death, he wasn't chasing her, she should have stayed aware, but because she came back she's a threat.

I think Vader does the killing, I don't know how we're going to handle it, because I don't think Rebels has the flexibility in handling death that the Clone Wars had. Remember we saw some pretty brutal acts of violence in the Clone Wars with a lot of emotion.

With Rebels I doubt we'll see a cowering Ashoka on her knees holding her stump of an arm as Vader rears back to behead her.

I also think that while Ashoka is strong in the force and could be considered a Jedi Knight by now. Vader at this point is going to be a storm in the force, its not going to be a match up that is even. Vader is going to play with her for a while. Then drop the father moment on her with "Yes Ashoka, its me" then when she realizes that all is lost he'll kill her.

By the way in the book Dark Lord the Rise of Darth Vader. He drops the bomb on a Jedi Knight that he's dueling in an incredibly devastating manner. He's already beaten the knight, the fight is over, and Vader basically uses it to taunt him.

Basically the Jedi Knight asks Vader if Palpatine knows what he's gotten into by siding with a Sith Lord (The average Jedi didn't know that Palpatine was a Sith). Vader basically laughs and says that The Emperor couldn't be more pleased with the arrangement.

The the Knight Shryne asks how he got to be the monstrosity that he was, and Vader said that it was his fault with the help of Obi Wan Kenobi.

Then Shryne clues in and asks if he's a fallen Jedi, like Dooku one of the lost 20 and Vader basically said, I'm the 21st surely you've heard of Anakin Skywalker the choosen one.

then he reveals that his master Palpatine will complete his Sith training.

And for Shyrne all the blocks fall into place and he realizes how ignorant the Jedi were and how complete Palpatines betrayal was.

He then has a vision of Endor with Vader in the middle of it and dies knowing pretty much failure.
