Gaudreau gets the assist for one of the last two players to touch the puck before the goal scorer but Backlund gets the +1 for being on the ice during a non-powerplay goal.
I think this could lead to a fun situation where, if your team draws a penalty, the last player to touch it gets off the ice, and the opposing team scores on itself, that the GWG could be scored by a player on the bench.
