You wouldn't be trading Hudler for a pick, you'd be trading him for an asset.

Without stockpiling on assets last year the Flames wouldn't have Hamilton. You can't just isolate it to what player the Flames could get with a 2nd round pick for example. You have to look at what player they could draft OR what they could use that pick for.

For the record, this team is still rebuilding. They need to trade Hudler at some point this season regardless of where they are in the standing imo.
