I'm of the view that the long term outlook of this team is much more important than anything that will happen this year. I just don't see this team as a playoff threat, not with our goaltending. Every pick and prospect acquired will only increase our chance at future success IMO. That is the lens I see this team through.

If we have a 4 point cushion then it is easy, you don't trade him. Your long term outlook is the exact same as the organization to the North and how has that worked out for them? The playoffs should always be the goal because anything can happen. Teams have won the Cup with a sub par goalie, Chicago did it with Niemi. What happens if Ramo gets hot? He is already playing pretty good. It isn't like the prospect cupboard is bare either. You always should be going for it.
