Asus is known to be of a basic higher build quality than Acer. HP has been going on a downward trajectory as well. Drift by a Memory Express and check out an older generation full size Asus and compare it to the Zenbook. It might be worth a little less power for the bigger machine, considering what you are using it for.

Also, make sure that all of your programs will work on Chrome OS, if that is the way that you decide to go. I'm guessing wouldn't be a problem, but MS and Google..... someone else may be able to speak to that more.
