First of all, the team is on a 4 game winning streak and has improved their possession and Defensive play over the last month to the point where it is arguably better than last year. Secondly, the body of work on special teams is enough to say that this is a bad stretch. It is compounded because both are happening at once. But none the less, a bad stretch. Third, Hartley can't fire people, he can't win D zone face-offs for people and he can't make wide open saves from the high slot for people.
The players will work themselves out of this and learn to be more consistent. Give your head a shake... Firing Hartley and Gelinas? Good grief

We're a third of the way into the season and we have the 30th PP and 30th PK and there hasn't been any improvement in either despite the 4 game win streak. But yes, lets keep ignoring this issue because we weren't awful at special teams last year. Our PK wasn't great last year either and finished 20th in the league in a year where everything seemed to go our way.
