Coaches challenges are supposed to be used for obvious mistakes, not for an inch. It was never intended to determine whether a guys skate was an inch off the ice at the blueline or not, or if a receiver juggled the ball for a nanosecond off his fingertips. It makes it impossible for refs to ref properly as they see things in real time.

Thank you. Offside should simply not be challengable. It's not in the spirit of the rule at all. Just creates a meaningless controversy, more interruptions in the game, and less goals. None of these things are desirable. Seriously, even in the interest of fairness, who actually cares if a player's skate is a few millimeters north of the blueline at the time of puck entry? Often, these reviews don't even concern goals scored off the rush.
