He's not a bad player, but he's not an impact player. He's basically a right-stick version of Tyler Wotherspoon. On the right team he could find a niche, but he doesn't do any one thing at a level high enough to be noteworthy.

I don't think he was ever a bad signing for them FWIW, but they just couldn't find a niche for him. It's the same for us with Wotherspoon and how he's been surpassed by Kulak, Culkin, Nakladal, Kylington, Andersson, Hickey despite being basically a more polished version of the player he was two years ago when he was called up and looked decent in our top 6.

Larsson / Greene is a very solid 1st pairing on a good team. The Devils have no reason to break up a better pairing to get back to a good former pairing.
