I have been to rinks in Phx, LA and Anaheim and they were all FREEZING cold! This is coming from a guy who's never cold either.

In any event when I went back in recent years the buildings were fine. I would be walking around with my beer, shorts and Flames jersey taking in the scene. It dawned on me that when I had gone to previous games and the rink being cold I didn't have a desire to really drink beer, more food than anything.

I remember reading an article from the Calgary-based owner of the Coyotes to a local AZ paper and he mentioned this exact fact. One of the things he did when he took over was upgrade the ice equipment and bring in some more experienced employee's. This allowed the temperature to be raised in the building a few degree's. People can now walk in from the golf course and watch a game! This was a paraphrased quote from the owner "We are in the hockey experience which includes a cold beer. The way we had the building in previous years did nothing to boost cold drinks like beer. Now you can enjoy a cold beverage in comfort"

Makes sense! Bring on the beer sales! ice quality be dammed
