Slashes like that are vicious and happen to Johnny at least once per game. He is going to break something one day if something isn't done about it. People can argue jumping the culprit won't deter players from doing it but it would at the very least draw attention to it. It's going uncalled so often by referees that an overreaction by the team itself is the only way to wake them up to it. The flames should absolutely maul anyone that takes shots like that on gaudreau. After a few games of that... Maybe game supervisors and refs would finally start noticing slashes on gaudreau and would make sure a penalty is called for it before things get out of hand.

Agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. If I'm the opposing team and the generally accepted rule is you can slash the #### out of Johnny, why wouldn't you?
Bolls or Engo need to send a message. Both to refs league wide and opposing players. Most likely Engo since Bolls most likely will never be on the same ice surface as Johnny at the same time. Ever.
