I'm with Street Pharmacist - this is intent to hurt, not intent to injure. There's no intent to do anything that would be expected to have long-lasting effect. A guy's in a bunch of pain for a few minutes, and that's the extent of it. Any more serious result from that play is pretty unlikely. Not much different than butt-ending a guy in the gut or slashing him on the calf. Dirty plays but unlikely to knock a guy out of the lineup.
