Yes because as soon as things settle down I'm sure Carl will let the cat out of the bag.
We all know they are going to wring out some love triangle story between the two boys and the girl in the middle. Outing an attempted murder would just get in the way of that side story. Not exactly going out on a limb but I will predict right now that the love triangle will end in the death of one or both of the characters not named Carl.
