As far as the pre-season and this season, all three goalies have been crappy, period.
Hartley gave more chances to Ramo and Hiller, so I would argue Ramo and Hiller have "outplayed" Ortio as being crappier.

My point is, Ramo has been equally as brutal if not worse, yet gotten a free pass.
Ramo WAS given the net despite brutal outings, while Ortio was exiled and never given a chance ever.
Fine, maybe Hartley was not "out to get him", but he was out of the way unfair to Ortio.
6 games, 14 Goals Against, 2.52GA, .908 Save% with 4 wins and 2 losses.

Lets take a look at Ramo and Hillers numbers for last year as well

Hiller 52 games, 113 Goals Against, 2.36GA, .918 Save% with 26 wins and 19 losses
Ramo 34 games, 75 Goals Against, 2.60GA, .912 Save% with 15 wins and 9 Losses.

So Ortio is clearly better when we take into account save %....err wait... he was worse then both. But we can stand behind his superior GA which must have been way better then..... oh wait, it wasn't. Well, at least he had double the amount of wins then losses, the other goalies didn't meet that stat line. Lets stick to that. Joni "lights out" Ortio.

You said you don't watch practices but as others mentioned the coaches do. Past behaviours are the best predictor of future behaviours. If a guy sandbags it in practice then there is a good chance he will do the same in the future. Always earned never given is a culture, its not just applied to the last game a player played.

I agree that all the goalies have been terrible, like really really bad but Ortio isn't the answer.
