I really think people are asking too much when it comes to the Democratic candidates.
One candidate for the conservative types that generally prefer the status quo, one for the more liberal/left types. Both intelligent, reasonable and with policies that fit well within the party lines. (EDIT: I really struggle at calling Sanders a radical. I've listened to him a couple of times, and I'm just not hearing anything THAT radical even in the spectrum of US politics.)
I really fail to see what's the big problem here? I mean sure, they're not as charismatic as for example Obama, but that's a pretty high standard for politicians. I'm sure both Clinton and Sanders would be perfectly capable presidents.
In comparison most Republican candidates would probably be as bad or even worse disasters than younger Bush was.
