The zombies are just plot devices and the rules surrounding them constantly change. If you really want to nitpick, how are human teeth constantly biting through clothes or taking huge gashes out of people? How do the zombies seem so easily to be able to reach into a human chest and pull out organs?

Try biting through an uncooked steak or a piece of denim sometime. It's pretty hard. Even in some mindless crazed mode, your teeth and jaw muscles aren't going to be able to do it.
I am not nitpicking the zombie portion, rather the spacial portion. You can't squeeze into 8' of space.

My approach to the show is, I am willing to extend a greater sense of disbelief to the zombies, why, well because they don't exist and we can't definitively say what they can or can't do. That sense of disbelief slows down when it comes to certain know things in our "universe", to me the idea a grown man could squish under a dumpster (8" of space) and them manipulate his body around to kill multiple walkers is well, annoying.

In short, twist the rules with walkers if you want, but try your best to keep the rules of our world the same. I find that this approach allows me to get in the show more, it allows me to wonder "hey what the hell would I do and where would I got during the Zombie apocalypse?".

It mantains a sense of "real" to the show.

Just my take.
