sorry, i don't know if my message from mobile while waiting at doctor's office got thru (it timed out).
not too happy about this. Is this management team, really thinking there is a chance that this team has what it takes to compete for anything this season??
for all that "making decisions that don't make us better now but in the long run" talk, this sure feels like a 'win now' mode move.
hiller is not the goalie of the future. He is not the goalie of this season. Why has he not simply been sent down? Ortio is young, and showed some level of promise. let's throw away that asset so we can have a solid tandem of ramo/hiller and hope to play 0.500 hockey.
i'd love to see some balls and foresight from this management team, that so far has shown very very little with how this whole goaltending situation has gone.
realize we're in year 3 of a rebuild, year 2 was a blip and shouldn't be the crux of any argument on where the team should be this year. clearly the rebuild is not complete, and if management isn't looking at how to maximize veteran contracts for younger assets, then i really don't know what the plan is this year.
