Is that true? I don't know, but if he was doing that in the NHL it explains his lack of starts, and lackluster performances.
Conversely, I heard (from the same source, but it was second hand to them as well, so again, grain of salt) that when Ramo got sent down this year, he showed up to Stockton and said "I'll do whatever it takes to get back in the NHL, tell me what I have to do and I'll do it".
He gets called back up and is playing well as of late (not saying amazing but decently well).
Now Ortio is getting sent down.
Perhaps this is the kick in the pants that Ortio needs?
Again, second hand source which may very well be wrong.

Sounds he is more similar to a previous Fin we had in net. I love the story of Kipper at the WJ training camp and him and Toskola hid in a blueberry bush and ate blueberries rather than running up the mountain with the rest of the team.
The biggest problem with this situation is the expectations on the club and Ortio just not having the trust of the coaching staff. As long as the Flames are within striking distance of a playoff spot I don't think Ortio will get the leeway Ramo does.
