Hamonic is 25, Gio is 32. I would make that trade any day of the week. Islanders obviously have to add something as well but it's not as far fetched as people are making it seem. By the time the Flames are actual contenders Gio will be 35/36 and likely the 3/4/5th D-man while Hamonic will be in the prime of his career at age 28/29.
Gio is also coming off two injuries and has been injured pretty much every season and it's starting to take its toll.
Would not mind a trade involving those two at all.
