I'm amazed Brodie's, Hamilton's and Giordano's names have been thrown out there at all.
Brodie is better than Hamonic and on arguably a better contract. I've only really seen this put out there by other fanbases but it is laughable to me.
Giordano is better than Hamonic and likely will be for the majority of Hamonic's contract. Frankly, I don't understand people discounting Gio after 20 games when he played the last 2.5 years at a Norris calibre level. Particularly since he clearly didn't start the season healthy.
Hamilton is younger than Hamonic and possibly on a better trajectory. I wouldn't trade a 1st and two 2nds in a deep draft for Hamonic. I don't understanding giving up on Hamilton after a 20 game sample size.
If we could trade Russell+ or Wideman+, I'd love to have Hamonic. But we already have two defenseman better than Hamonic and one that is likely going to be better.
I really hope Brad Treliving's response is something along the lines of "We're not desperate for a no 3 defenceman, but we'd be willing to give up Wideman/Russell and add a draft pick or another bottom level roster player to help the optics out."
If Snow has no better offers, than great, make it happen. But I honestly don't care if Hamonic goes to Edmonton or Vancouver or Winnipeg. He's a good defenceman on a good contract, but we're not talking about Erik Karlsson here.
