I've read it before but I think thats a ridiculous excuse, fact is Hartley has no confidence in him. That's on Hartley too, pinning him on the bench forever, then playing him against the like of Rangers, Isles, Habs on the road? What did he expect from him?
Ortio is at fault but Hartley needs to takes 80% of the blame in ruining his development.

I'm curious what you would do to improve his development curve. He didn't start the Rangers game, and only faced 5 shots. The NYI game was the second of a back to back. Plus the team had 3 goalies on the roster for the first 6 games.
Conversely, if he's that good, why was Treliving so hasty to sign Ramo?
