Brodie's contract be darned, he's worth a lot more than what he's getting. I don't think you can just look at their salaries/age and assume they are the same.

In contract negotiations, the Flames managers have very clearly been using Hamonic's contract as a comparable.
Between other 2008 draft picks Hamonic and Josi, we're lucky that they signed the deals they did as Brodie is most comparable to them and they were on great contracts.
Hamonic's playstyle isn't really comparable to Brodie or Russell. His value is very clearly closer to Brodie's though.
