Hamonic has one of the best caphits in the league for what he brings, you would struggle to find 10 better non-ELC contracts. If it wasn't for him requesting a trade, the Islanders would probably never move him.

Don't know enough about Hamonic to say if the value is there. The Isles may need to add a mid pick or decent prospect to even it out, as both Wideman and Russell are good players.

It's no where close to what Hamonic should be fetching. He's arguably been the Islanders best defenseman for almost 3 years now and he's only 25. They don't need a second-pairing when they already have Boychuk, Leddy and de Haan, it would be a massive downgrade for them. They might be constrained given the trade request, but Hamonic should be fetching a lot more than that.
