Reading the Islanders thread on FB they want a Dman in return.
Myers makes the most sense. Gets save nearly $2M a year on the cap to give them more flexibility and the Islanders get a great player in return.
Winnipeg could probably get a + since they are in the drivers seat.
Edmonton doesn't really have the Dman unless they want to part with Nurse. Even then the Islbders likely want someone more proven.
Vancouver just doesn't have the pieces unless the Islanders have interest in Edler? That deal makes some sense.
Calgary could offer up a D pairing of Russell and Wideman along with a prospect. Not sure if the Islanders have interest in those players.
From a Flames fan perspective I would have never thought we would need another D coming into this season. Looking at where the season has gone another top 4 D wouldn't hurt.
