Would've loved to see Pennington come into Game 7 at the bottom of the 9th, with a 12-2 score the Blue Jays way, to troll the Royals and Renyolds. And, as he was the first position player in the long history of baseball to pitch in the post season, 2 appearances would stand for a long long time.

For each of 3 teams mentioned, #Indians would obtain everyday OF and part with a starting pitcher. Many scenarios in play for CLE. (2/2)

Just stopped in to post this.
The Speculation is that is would take one of Pompey or Pillar, plus a pitcher (Hutchinson/Sanchez?) to bring in one of Cleveland's pitchers.
As those pitchers are Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar and Bauer, I don't think it's a bad move in any way, as much as everyone loves Pompey and Pillar.
Edit : Of course, if they could swing Sanchez and Revere for Salazar....

Interesting that the first move for Shapiro is to slide back to Cleveland. Wonder if the Indians new management would be reluctant to do a deal with their old boss, when push comes to shove.
But, this is the year to trade non core Jays players. Outside of Goins, and part timers like Smoak, all of those non-core guys had very good post seasons at the plate and in the field, were showcased on national TV, and thus their value is likely at its highest.
