And this is exactly what is said in the last half of the article. He pretty much says its wishful thinking and it would be impossible. The only radical idea I saw in the article is that the US should have made a seperate Kurdish state in Iraq. It is an interesting idea, but I don't think it would be that feasible.

As to remarks about Israel, I generally agree. But, the same is true for the Arab-Palestinian side. There are too many groups that thrive off that conflict for their ever to be peace.
