Well tonight my son finally broke thru as he was in net for his first win at the AA level as he was called up and the other goalie had a case of the flu and a wonky ankle.
He gave up a goal in the first minute, but was steady the rest of the way as his team won 4-2 in a very entertaining and hard hitting game.
My son has also been given the opportunity to join the team this weekend for an out of town tournament. This will be a great opportunity for my son to grow as both a person and a player as the boys ride the bus together, and room together and are forced to be independent young men.
I will drop him off for the bus on Thursday and then make the drive out myself as my wife is unable to get away for the weekend.
The coach has promised him two starts; so here is hoping he makes the best of this opportunity.
I know it is only AA, but my son started hockey in novice and he was on team 6 playing in div 8 a I am a very proud poppa right now and very happy for him as he is finally seeing his hard work start to pay dividends.
