I still think you need a level of arcade-like play in the game to sell the game to people who may rent it. 2k7 is nice for pure sim fans but for the casual fans, it just doesn't cut it.
EA will always have a overall higher fun factor for the pick up and play gamers. It sells.
That's why I buy both games every year, they balance each other quite nicely.
