Also have to wonder if Rogers will look at this past year's strategy, and tell LaCava/Shapiro that they have to a bit of money to play with, but not take a big enough splash to shore up the pitching in the offseason, instead, having the carrot dangling of more money to spend in July (just like this year) to get a rental SP and/or bullpen.
Of course, they promised that two years ago, and the Jays, who had clawed back with a big win streak before the All Star break, fell off the map when Rogers pulled that early season promise off the table when no help arrived.
