I can't wait to see what Treliving gets for Hudler. He does not have a NTC or a NMC, so Treliving can deal with any team in the NHL. He was a top 10 scorer in the league last year, is on a friendly contract and is off to a half decent start next year. He was hired to correct the egregious wrongs of Feaster in the trade department. Compared to the return we got for Iginla (who only had one team on his trade list) this should be a home run. Hudler is younger, has a cup, and is also a proven point producer. Iggy was worth 2 middling prospects and a pick, Hudler should be worth a bit more given that we no longer have Feaster making bad deals and Burke and Treliving to lead the way. Other targets on the forward ranks include Bollig, Raymond, Stajan and Jones.
On the backend, Treliving and Burke should be able to get good value for Wideman, Russell and possibly even Smid. Treliving and Burke were brought in because they would not screw up trades in such an autrocious way like Feaster who only got a couple first round picks and a few prospects for Bouwmeester and Iginla. Now that we have some elite traders handling our team it is their time to shine. I am expecting great things.
