Treliving is only dealing from a position of weakness if he is still trying to do the proverbial 'shake-up' trade.

Once he decides that the playoffs are realistically out of reach, then he suddenly is in a position of strength and can just wait out any moves until he gets at least fair-market value (whatever that may be) or greater if the market heats up.

Last year's success was FANTASTIC. Unfortunately set the bar extremely high for his year. Let's not make the same mistake that Sutter did in '04 and start caving into the pressure of winning. Last year, this team was very much in a rebuild, though it was obscured by the success. This season thus far has been a glaring reminder that the rebuild isn't over.

Just hold off on the trade front until other teams start dealing from a position of weakness. Injuries will happen. Hopefully a couple of trades happen leading up to an 'arms race' in one of the other divisions. Other GMs start feeling some heat and try to keep their teams in the playoffs and safeguarding their own jobs.

Treliving just needs to wait it out I think. Seems he is doing exactly that. It is nice to see that he still hasn't lost his focus for the long-term.
