There may be questions from some people about him being a #2 center, I think evidence shows he is more likely a number 1 but the list of guys his age or younger with his accomplishments is pretty short.
The Avs aren't going to trade him for a poo poo platter of Flames crap. Sakic and Roy aren't Flames fans that are willing to take back a package of nothing to help the Flames have a cool core to build around.

Roy and Sakic appear to be flames fans as the team is littered with former players from the organization. Iginla, Tanguay, Stuart, Comeau, Street, Berra and they came close to signing Glencross in the summer.
They also make pretty bad trades. The Berra deal, RoR deal, Stuart trade are all bad moves.
Duchene has put up numbers consistent with a top end 2nd line centre. Last year he had 55pts and this year 6 in 14 games. He appears to have a decent year or 2 and then stumbles rather than takes a step forward.
Flames won't be sending a poo poo platter to get him but could offer some intriguing assets without touching the core 6 players.
Too bad we didn't have DSP in our line up we could probably get Duchene straight up if we did
