I asked the gamestop manager about that actually last night. I asked him if they have enough copies for demand, and he said they definitely do. Boxes and Boxes of it.
Guys line up so they can be the first to get their hands on the physical copies since the lineups will inevitably grow at the moment of release.
Heck, on an unassuming weekday with no specials going on, I've waited 20 mins in line at gamestop to buy something. Since most of these guys participate in the trade in program, they prefer buying from gamestop.
I didn't buy a PS4 right away, and gamestop ran out of those a few weeks after release. I had to wait until the next shipment.
